Bob Brooks & Katrina Szish

Host of American Agenda

Bob is a proud native of the small town of Mt. Pleasant, Pennsylvania, tucked in the corner of Southwest Pennsylvania.  He's also a product of a public high school education and a graduate of Pennsylvania's largest public university, Penn State.  No matter where you're from, city or town, Bob believes anything is possible.  He's honored to have been given the chance to call Newsmax his new home.

He learned early on in life that hard work mixed with dedication is the recipe for success.  His parents showed him that as his father is a 5th generation funeral director and his mother was a public school elementary teacher.

Bob had to work his way up the broadcast industry ladder.  After college his career took him up, down and back up the eastern seaboard with stops in Elmira, NY at WETM 18 News, Miami, FL at the NBC affiliate, and for the last seven years Bob worked at the number one station in Philadelphia, PA 6abc Action News.   He's covered everything from natural disasters, the 2020 riots in downtown Philadelphia, to politics and everything in between.

Brooks' experiences from growing up in a small town next to a family owned farm, to covering stories in some of the nation's biggest metropolitan areas has taught him there are different sides to every story and everyone deserves a chance to be heard.  Though in recent years he's come to the conclusion that portions of the country's voices, like were he's from, have too often gone ignored.

He also has a personal interest in finance having passed the SIE exam (Security Industry Essentials) and Series 3 (National Commodities Futures Examination).

Katrina Szish has more than 15 years of experience as a journalist and host in news, entertainment, fashion, and pop culture. Prior to joining Newsmax in 2022, Szish created The Szish List on QVC, a panel-based style show that quickly became the highest-performing fashion series at the network.
