Rick Leventhal is a seasoned journalist with 35 years of reporting experience, covering wars, hurricanes, terror attacks and other breaking news across the country and around the world, including several tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, two trips to the Kosovo region, two trips to Libya and 14 trips to Israel and the Palestinian territories.

After 10 years reporting and anchoring for local news stations in small towns and large, including Columbia & Spartanburg, S.C, Miami, Fort Lauderdale & West Palm Beach, Fla., Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles & New York City, Leventhal spent the next 24 years at Fox News Channel, rising to Senior Correspondent, known for his fearless commitment to journalism and being first out the door on major breaking news events.

He was among the first on the scene at Ground Zero and witnessed the collapse of the Twin Towers on 9/11. He spent several weeks embedded with U.S. Marines during the invasion of Iraq in 2003. He broke the story of Hillary Clinton's medical episode that upended her 2016 presidential campaign. He interviewed US Airways Flight 1549 passengers as they came ashore at the Miracle on the Hudson in 2009. He was at the Daytona 500 when Dale Earnhardt crashed and died. He spent several weeks in Pakistan covering the kidnapping and murder of WSJ correspondent Daniel Pearl. He covered riots in Baltimore, the earthquake in Haiti, Natalee Holloway's disappearance in Aruba, the hanging chads that kept the 2000 Presidential election in limbo and faced the intensity of some of the biggest Hurricanes to hit our shores including Katrina, Andrew, Hugo and dozens more. Many of these stories are chronicled in Rick's book about his career, titled "Chasing Catastrophe".

Rick Leventhal is married to former “Real Housewives of Orange County” star Kelly Dodd, and is helping to raise her daughter, Jolie, in Newport Beach, California. Rick also has two grown daughters of his own.
